Carolina Pup Co was born out of a family’s search for an answer.
When one of our children was diagnosed with asthma, the puppy we’d lovingly adopted became an unexpected trigger. Rehoming that dog broke our hearts and left us determined to find a way for families like ours to experience the joy of a canine companion without sacrificing health.
Our research led us to poodles and doodles — breeds known for being hypoallergenic and incredibly loving. In 2019, when doodles were still rare, we saw not only an opportunity but a calling. We committed ourselves to raising therapy‑quality puppies for children and adults living with allergies and other sensitivities. Over time, several of our dogs have gone on to be trained as service or therapy companions, fulfilling a dream we once thought out of reach.
After taking a much‑needed break in 2023–2024, we’re back with renewed passion. A chance meeting with a toy poodle (whose breeder was leaving the business) reminded us why we started in the first place. It felt right to reopen our program — not on a large scale, but intentionally and ethically.
At Carolina Pup Co you won’t find crowded kennels or guardian arrangements. All of our dogs live in our home as cherished family members, and every puppy spends its first weeks literally in our living room until the day it goes home. We raise just a handful of litters each year, ensuring we can give every pup and every parent the attention they deserve. From early neurological stimulation (ENS) and sound desensitization to potty training, introductory leash work, and crate training around six weeks, we lay the groundwork for well‑adjusted, confident dogs.
We began breeding in late 2019 and worked closely with respected mentors in the industry to build an ethical, health‑focused program. Our parents are health tested, our puppies are loved and nurtured from birth, and our goal is always to give them the very best start.
